| Scope and Result | The intended design of the Tyra Southeast B High Integrity Pressure Protection System (HIPPS Cubicle 110 (TSB-FP-0249)), complies with the requirements of IEC 61508 (Phase 10 of the safety life cycle) and IEC 61511 (Phase 4 of the safety life cycle) for SIL 3. Specific requirements below have to be considered. |
| Specific Provisions | The assessment covers only the scope of delivery by Yokogawa Europe Solutions B.V. To comply with requirements for SIL 3 all subsystems of the complete Safety Instrumented Function must fulfill SIL 3 overall requirements. The instructions of the associated Installation and Operating Manuals and the Safety Manuals of used subsystem elements shall be considered. Recommendations of TÜV Rheinland Automation, Functional Safety: The presented design of the Final Element configuration (out of Yokogawa scope) is not sufficient for SIL 3 applications. We recommend the usage of Final Elements in a configuration having a Hardware Fault Tolerance higher than zero (e.g. 1oo2 / HFT=1). The observations stated in the technical report 968/EL 932.00/13 chapter 4.3.7 have to be considered. |
