| Scope and Result | The intended design of the High Integrity Pressure Protection System (HIPPS) for an offshore Shwe platform (SHP) complies with the requirements of IEC 61508 (Phase 10 of the safety life cycle) and IEC 61511 (Phase 4 of the safety life cycle) for SIL 3. |
| Specific Provisions | Among others the end-user needs to assure that installation and commissioning, safety validation, operation, maintenance and repair, proof testing, retrofit and decommissioning are carried out according to the requirements of the standards. Further on the instructions given by the HIPPS supplier and the safety documentation delivered by the components suppliers have to be observed. During validation testing the end-user needs to verify that the safety functions can be executed as required by the Safety Requirement Specification. Furthermore an override management including access control and complete override procedures shall be made available for operation and maintenance phase. Any changes made to the design of safety system or to the configuration need to go through a modification procedure. No changes are allowed to be made by the end-user to individual components, modules or software (if applicable). |
